KVK to promote Natural farming of vegetables as part of the Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan (SCSP) of Government of India


The KVK Ernakulam is promoting Natural farming of vegetables in the district towards self-sufficiency in vegetable production and nutritional security among scheduled caste families.  The KVK distributed quality vegetable seeds of ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Bengaluru among selected scheduled caste families in a function held at Krishi Bhavan , Keezhmad on 27.09.2022. The participants were trained on Natural farming of vegetables. An interactive session on “Water management in homesteads to enhance vegetable production” was also held. Methods of recycling household wastes to kitchen gardens for higher productivity were taught.  Smt. Siby V G, Agriculture officer, Keezhmad inaugurated the programme.  Shri.Shoji Joy Edison, Subject Matter Specialist (Horticulture), KVK Ernakulam conducted the training.
