BSc Aquaculture Students from St. Albert’s College Gain Hands-On Experience at KVK Fish Farms

A group of 25 BSc Aquaculture students from St. Albert’s College, Ernakulam, visited the KVK fish farms as part of their academic curriculum, gaining firsthand experience in brackish water fish farming techniques.

Dr. P.A. Vikas, Subject Matter Specialist (Fisheries), led an interactive session with the students, providing a comprehensive overview of brackish water fish farming practices. The students were engaged in practical demonstrations, which included fish feeding, harvesting, and various other essential aquaculture activities.

The exposure visit offered the students a unique opportunity to observe and participate in real-time fish farming operations, enriching their theoretical knowledge with practical insights. The interactive and informative session not only enhanced the students’ understanding of aquaculture techniques but also inspired them to explore innovative approaches in the field.

This initiative by KVK underscores its commitment to fostering future professionals in the fisheries sector by providing experiential learning opportunities.
