Cross learning experience for Service Co-operative bank members at KVK demonstration sites

Service cooperative banks are grass root level financial organizations functioning in every Grama Panchayaths of Kerala.  They have a major role in the Agricultural development in the state as they have been implementing model projects in farming, farm produce processing, branding, marketing etc., towards  income generation to local farmers. The KVK Ernakulam has been providing technology backstopping to various Service cooperative banks functioning in the district.   Now a team from North Kerala comprising of Thondiyil Service Co-operative bank President Shri.Sunny Cyriac, Secretary Shri.Jojo Joseph, Manger Shri.Sarath Chandran, board member Shri.Babu Thomas along with Pervoor Grama panchayath member Shri. Raju Joseph paid a cross-learning visit to Ernakulam KVK’s Improved Catla demonstration field at Mookkannoor near Angamaly on 31.08.2023. The team members learned the scope of  improved Catla farming in Kannur district. Dr.P.A Vikas SMS (Fisheries) explained various interventions of the KVK in the field of Aquaculture. The economics of Live fish vending was also shared with the team. Shri.Biju M Luice, Aquapromotor and Shri. Polachan, fish farmer shared their farming experiences. The Mookkannoor Grama panchayath president, Shri. Biju Palatty was also present.
