Ernakulam KVK conducted Seminar on Support Services from Central Research Institutes for the benefit of aspiring food entrepreneurs

The Ernakulam Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) organized an insightful seminar titled “Fostering Food Entrepreneurship in Kerala: Leveraging Support Services from Central Research Institutes” at ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (ICAR-CMFRI), Kochi on the 30th of December 2023. The event brought together distinguished speakers from various central institutes to share their expertise on supporting food entrepreneurship.

Dr. Elavarasan K, Scientist, presented on “Food Entrepreneurship: Support Services from ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (ICAR-CIFT), Kochi.” Following that, Dr. V.R. Sinija, Professor and Head at the Food Processing Business Incubation Centre, NIFTEM-T, spoke about “Food Entrepreneurship: Support Services from the National Institute of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship and Management, Thanjavur.”

The seminar continued with insights from Dr. M.S. Sajeev, Principal Scientist at ICAR-CTCRI, Thiruvananthapuram, who covered “Food Entrepreneurship: Support Services from ICAR-Central Tuber Crops Research Institute (ICAR-CTCRI).” Dr. K. Muraleedharan, Head of the Social Sciences division & In-Charge of Agribusiness Incubation Unit at ICAR-CPCRI, presented on “Food Entrepreneurship: Support Services from ICAR-Central Plantation Crops Research Institute, Kasaragod.”

Further sessions included Dr. A. Srinivas, Scientist at ICAR-IIMR, Hyderabad, addressing “Food Entrepreneurship: Support Services from ICAR-Indian Institute of Millets Research (ICAR-IIMR), Hyderabad.” Dr. Sajesh V.K., Scientist at ICAR-IISR, discussed “Food Entrepreneurship: Support Services from ICAR-Indian Institute of Spices Research (ICAR-IISR), Kozhikkode.”

Dr. Venugopalan V V, Chief Scientist & Head of Agroprocessing Technology Division at CSIR-NIIST Thiruvannathapuram, highlighted “Food Entrepreneurship: Support Services from CSIR – National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (CSIR-NIIST), Thiruvananthapuram.”

The seminar provided a comprehensive overview of the support services available for fostering food entrepreneurship in Kerala, enhancing awareness and collaboration among the participants.
