KVK invites expressions of interest from progressive farmers from Ernakulam district interested in collaborating on various KVK programs. This KVK conducts regular programs of an innovative nature, like On-farm testing (OFT), where lab-tested technologies are tested in farmer’s fields to assess their suitability. Another farmer participatory program is Frontline demonstrations (FLD), wherein the field-tested technologies are demonstrated in progressive farmer’s fields with a view to popularising the technologies. KVK collaborates with farmers each year to conduct 8-10 OFTs and 10-12 FLDs in Ernakulam district. In addition, registered farmers would be given preference for KVKs training and other programs. Selected farmers would be designated as KVK’s farming partners.
