A delegation of 10 Students, accompanied by two Professors from Michigan State University, USA, visited the Satellite Pearlspot fish seed production units of KVK at Karumaloor and Marigold demonstration plots at Alangad on 14th July 2023. During the visit at Karumaloor, the team learned how Group farming and branded seed marketing enhance fish farmers’ income, and at Alangad, the team was briefed on market-oriented farm planning to augment product marketability and farm income. The exposure visits were conducted as part of a memorandum of understanding between ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI), Kochi, and Michigan State University, USA. Dr. Shyam. Salim, Principal Scientist, CMFRI, is the Nodal officer for this program. Shri. Shoji Joy Edison and Dr.P.A. Vikas, Subject Matter Specialists of the KVK, coordinated the visits.
