A multidisciplinary diagnostic team, comprised of experts from KAU’s Rice Research Station in Vyttila and ICAR’s KVK in Ernakulam, conducted a visit to Okkal Padashekharam on April 3, 2024. During the visit, three diseases were identified in the paddy crop: sheath blight, blast, and false smut. To effectively manage these diseases, the diagnostic team recommended spraying Tebuconazole + Trifloxystrobin fungicide at a rate of 80g per 200 liters of water per acre. Additionally, farmers were advised to conduct hand weeding to control echinocloa weed and maintain a weed-free paddy field during the booting stage.
