As part of it’s efforts to empower farmers on the importance of market oriented farming operation scheduling, the KVK Ernakulam jointly with ATMA conducted one day training on “Pushpa krishi” ie. Commercial Floriculture targeting Onam market at Alanagd block panchayath hall on 3rd June 2023. There is huge demand for flowers during the Festive season Onam in Kerala and the price would be the highest during this season. Shri Shoji Joy Edison, SMS Horticulture of KVK educated on the time line of activities that needs to be done for marigold (chendumalli) and Gomphrena (vadamalli) cultivation so as to harvest during Onam season. Saplings of marigold were distributed to the participants and arrangements made to provide technology backstopping. Shri M R Radhakrishnan , Vice president, Alanagd Block Panchayath  inaugurated the training, Block panchayath members, ADA Alanagad Mr Raju P N, AO Karumallur Smt. Elsa Giles, ATMA Block Technology Manager Shri Nishil T N and progressive farmers and SHG members participated.
