Following the successful achievements of KVK Ernakulam in Sugarcane farming, Jaggery production, and the successful marketing of branded Alangadan Jaggery in collaboration with the Alangad Grama Panchayat and Alangad Cooperative Bank, a Sugarcane Farmers’ Get-Together was organized by Krishikoppam Kalamassery, an agricultural movement initiated by the local Member of the Legislative Assembly and Minister, Shri. P. Rajeeve. The program was held at the Alangad Cooperative Bank on August 10, 2024.

Prospects of Cultivating Sugarcane in the Alangad Region. The event was inaugurated by Smt. Ramya Thomas, President of the Alangad Block Panchayat, and attracted over 50 farmers from the area.

This program aimed to further enhance sugarcane production and promote sustainable sugarcane farming and Jaggery production in the Alangad region of Ernakulam district, Kerala.
