Abstract
Even though collaborative work among individuals is very_x000D_
prominent today, that was not the case over half a century ago._x000D_
The shift from the typical assembly line to more contemporary_x000D_
organizational models that contain increasing amounts of_x000D_
teamwork first came about during World War I and World War_x000D_
II, in an effort for countries to unite their people. The movement_x000D_
towards teamwork was mostly due to the Hawthorne studies, a_x000D_
set of studies conducted in the 1920s and 1930s that highlighted_x000D_
the positive aspects of teamwork in an organizational setting.
